A black and white photo of Thomas Watson Brown, born in Audley on May 15, 1832. When he passes away in 1912 at the age of 80 years, he was one of the oldest residents of Audley.
Notes:
The hamlet of Audley grew up around the intersection of what s now known as Audley Road and Taunton Road. It was originally called Brown's Corners after Abraham Brown, who owned the hotel and bar and was related to Thomas Brown. Close to the hotel was space for outdoor sports, of which football and horse-racing were the favorite. Also nearby was a menagerie of caged animals kept by Brown.
