EXPROPRIATION OF LAND IN THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING COUNTY OF ONTARIO AND PROVINCE OF ONTARIO.
Notice is hereby given to all whom it may concern of the taking by His Majesty the King, of the following lands for the purpose of a Munitions Plant, which will be constructed immediately. Compensation will be paid to parties lawfully entitled to receive same, as early as can be arranged.
The area expropriated is situated in the Township of Pickering and comprises the following properties:
Parts of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 in the First Concession also all of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and parts of Lots 13 and 14 in Broken Front Range III; also all of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and parts of Lots 13 and 14 in Broken Front Range II all in the Township of Pickering and the road allowance between said lots and Concessions within the described area and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at a point on the east boundary of said lot seven (7) Concession One (l) said point being the intersection of said boundary with the south limit of the Oshawa Subdivision of the Canadian National Railway Company's right of way; thence southerly following the said east boundary of Lot seven (7), Concession one (1), lot seven (7), Broken Front Range three (3) and Lot seven (7), Broken Front Range Two (2) a distance of eleven thousand and fifty-six and six-tenths feet (11,056.6') more or less to the water's edge of Lake Ontario; thence westerly following the said water's edge across the fronts of said Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and part of 14 in the said Broken Front Range Two (2) to the west bank of Duffins Creek; thence northerly following the windings of the said west bank of Duffins Creek through Lots Fourteen (14) and Thirteen (13) to a point near the centre of the south half of Lot Thirteen (13) in said Concession One (l) opposite the mouth of a small creek distant fourteen hundred feet (1400') more or less southerly from the southerly boundary of said right of way; thence continuing northerly following the windings of the centre line of said creek to a point on the south limit of said right of way, a distance of fourteen hundred feet (1400') more or less; thence easterly following the said south limit of the said right of way a total distance of eight thousand nine hundred and fourteen feet (8,914.0') more or less to the point of commencement. The said parcel as described containing by admeasurement an area of two thousand five hundred and five (2,505.0) acres, more or less, and shown outlined green on plan attached here prepared by S.G. Smith, O.L.S. dated at Toronto, September 18th, 1940.
Expropriation plan and description giving effect to this notice was deposited in the Registry Office for the district in which the above described properties are located at Whitby, in the Province of Ontario at 11.15 o'clock a.m. on the 21st day of October 1940, and is designated as Instrument No. 22611.
The area expropriated may be immediately entered upon by Agents and Servants of the Crown, its Engineers, Contractors, or other nominees, for any purposes of the Crown and for the building of the said plant. Agents of the Crown will call upon the individual proprietors within a short time, for the purpose of negotiating agreements covering settlements of compensation for the taking of the property designated.
