The New Whitby Psychiatric Hospital Project and Whitby Psychiatric Hospital 70th Anniversary are particularly valuable. Volume 15 of the local history scrapbooks contains hundreds of newspaper clippings related to the history and development of the facility from 1912 to the present. The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Science website was also useful. Whitby Public Library has a wealth of books, pamphlets, and reports on mental health and illnesses in Canada.
