Description:
A photograph taken by Denzil Lawrence, school board trustee for Trafalgar Township in the 1950s and 1960s. This photograph was taken at the 25th wedding anniversary dinner for Ken and Ella Giles in 1950. There are 3 other photographs taken at this time by Mr. Lawrence, now in the TTHS internet collection, including one of Ken and Ella Giles themselves.

This is Kenneth and Mable Armstrong. (Our donor has spelled her name like this; I have spelled it differently in the title to ensure researchers will find either.)

Kenneth came from Fergus, he persuaded three other teachers to come to Trafalgar as well, including Charlie Matheson. Ken may have come to be a principal - it's not certain if he was a classroom teacher on his arrival or if he immediately was a principal. He did become one, and later became a school inspector. He retired to Elora, Ontario.
