The Woods In November

Framed Colour Block Print Artist description: This subject I found in Homer Watson Park, easier called Cressman's Woods. Many times we went picnicking in Cressman's Woods. We took the street car to the end of the line and we walked the three miles on the dusty road. Once we had reached the tall birch trees we hauled out our jack knives and carved names into the smooth bark. One such tree was mutilated with my sweetheart's and my name. After some twenty years a revisit with my wife, Peggy, showed the names were completely overgrown with healthy bark -- we did not kill a tree.
