Description:
Sepia colored postcard of Sidbrook, 411 King Street East.
Notes:
Built in 1857 by Kivas Tully and remodelled in 1860 by Major David Campbell, it was then bought by William Abbott in 1901 who enlarged and again remodelled the house. Later it became the summer home of the Haas family of Toronto. It is a fine example of the style known as Beaux Arts Classical a popular style in the US at the close of the 19th century. It became a private hospital in 1952 and closed in 2002.
