I am fascinated to see this plate as I have one and wondered what was the significance of the scene depicted. Mine has a chip and had been broken and somehow stapled(?)together, so it must have meant a lot to its first owner. I put together an exhibit on the War of 1812 this summer for our local Sandy Bay Historical Museum and now will loan my plate for next year's continuation of the exhibit. Thanks for the information.
